Emergency Medical Service

Ft. Jackson EMS is staffed 24/7/365 with Advanced Life Support ambulances and crews.  Access to EMS is through the 911 center at the Emergency Services Center located at the corner of Hill St. and Jackson Blvd.  Our EMS team also provides Automatic External Defibrillator training to the military community.

DIALING 911 FROM CELL PHONES

Dialing 911 from a cell phone will connect you with Richland County 911 dispatch.  Immediately inform the dispatcher that you are on Fort Jackson and request the call be transferred to the Fort Jackson 911 center.

 WHEN TO CALL 911

  • Head Injury

  • Loss of Consciousness

  • Paralysis

  • Penetrating wound from head to hips

  • Fall from more than 10 feet

  • Fractures/Dislocations

  • Struck by moving vehicle

  • Gunshot wound

  • Eye Injury

  • Burns

  • Mental Status Changes

  • Heat Injury

 Just because the patient does not appear badly injured immediately following an accident don’t assume they are OK.  If the Mechanism of Injury is severe, such as fall from more than 10 feet, gunshot wound, etc. assume the worst and dial 911.
