Upon arrival in the Fort Jackson area, service members should contact the Inbound Section of Personal Property at 751-7695/7694 for inquiry into arrival/delivery of household goods. This office will make delivery /storage arrangements accordingly. When you call, we will ask for a contact phone number, delivery address, if known, and possible desired delivery dates. Wait time for delivery could range from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the time of year. During peak season, May - Sep, you can expect a longer wait for arrival and delivery of property than you would during the rest of the year. If you moved your household goods yourself (DITY move), or had any property moved via the Post Office, you will be processing the settlement through this office. Hours for DITY or Postal settlement/reimbursement are Monday - Friday, 0745 - 0845 and Monday - Thursday, 1330 - 1430 on a first come, first served basis. If you need to weigh your property, Fort Jackson provides scales on Stuart Avenue, between the gas station and Moncrief Hospital. The scales operate during normal business hours (0730-1615). |
