The Fort Jackson Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) Center, located in the Education Center, building 4600, Room A200, on Strom Thurmond Boulevard, provides comprehensive transition assistance services for active duty, Reserve and National Guard soldiers, Department of Defense (DOD) civilian employees, and their family members who are separating from military and federal service. Family members are authorized and encouraged to use the ACAP services. All services provided by the ACAP Center are free. COUNSELING
The
pre-separation counseling is an initial overview that lays the foundation
for a smooth transition. All military members should receive this counseling
six (6) months prior to their separation date. The pre-separation counseling
is an individualized plan and a road map for a successful transition to
the civilian sector. Available resources, identification and individual
transition plans are made available to attendees.
