Stored Value Cards

The Stored Value Card Program was initiated at Fort Jackson in March 1999. The Armed Forces EZ Pay Card is a debit type card with a prearranged dollar limit, no service charges and a preset expiration date issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. These cards replace the initial pay advances given to new new soldiers at the reception station. All new soldiers are given $300.00 cards. Purchases can be made with the cards at AAFES locations, barbershops, and various vending machines. The amount of the card will be collected from the Soldier's regular pay as a Casual Pay. Soldiers should not entrust their card to anyone. When the Soldier departs Fort Jackson they should report to Wachovia Bank or the All South Federal Credit Union (with a copy of their orders) to receive any residual amounts left on the card.

Lost or Stolen Cards: Soldiers should immediately notify their respective chain of command. The chain of command will contact Disbursing at 751-6218 and provide the following information: Name, SSAN, Roster Number (assigned at the 120th AG, if known), and date paid. A DMPO Deputy or Defense Military Pay Officer will make a determination whether or not a second card (casual pay) should be issued. The determination will depend in large part on where the Soldier is in the process. For example, if the Soldier has been in Basic Training for three weeks, it will be very difficult to justify issuing a second card. Any remaining residual values due when the card expires will be processed and credited to the Soldier's bank account via electronic funds transfer.

Damaged Cards: Soldiers should immediately notify their chain of command. If still assigned to the 120th Reception Battalion, the Soldier should report to 120th's cashier cage (Tuesday--Friday, 0730 or Saturday, 0730) and notify the cashier of the problem.  If the Soldier is in a Basic or an Advanced Individual Training Unit, they should immediately report the problem to the chain of command. They will then be advised to report the Disbursing Section at the DMPO.
