The Physical Security Program

     The Physical Security Branch performs physical security inspections/surveys and reviews plans for new construction and/or renovation of present structures for the Active Army, Non-appropriated Fund Activities, ROTC units within Fort Jackson’s geographical area of responsibility, and US Army Reserve Activities located on the installation. The Branch maintains and uses statistics to identify crime trends to aid in combating crime. Assigned personnel conduct crime prevention campaigns as a result of crime analysis and as directed by the Provost Marshal.

     The Branch promotes crime prevention education and community relations, both on and off post. The Branch coordinates and conducts special classes and projects, alone and in conjunction with other protection agencies, to ensure that the mission of providing a secure environment for government and personal property and personnel are met.  Special classes and projects will include, unit armorer classes; key control seminars; anti-robbery seminars, newcomers orientation in conjunction with the Office of the Adjutant General; bicycle rodeos; fishing rodeos; spouse/child abuse seminars; and anti-rape seminars.

 

Vehicle Registration

Vehicle/Weapon Registration is located in the Strom Thurmond Building, Building 5450, Room 226.  Office hours are 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Vehicle Registration requirements are: Vehicle Registration, Proof of Insurance, Drivers License and Military/DOD Civilian I.D. 

 

Motorcycles

To register a motorcycle, Active Duty personnel and DOD Civilian employees who ride motorcycles on the installation must have successfully completed an MSF rider course. Scheduling for the Safety Course can be coordinated through the Post Safety Center.
