CPT Guy L. Allsup is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was commissioned in the Field Artillery upon graduation from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications.
Upon commissioning he attended the Field Artillery Officer Basic course at Ft Sill, OK and was later assigned to 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment where he served as a Platoon Leader and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09. While deployed he assumed duties as a Fire Support Officer assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment. Upon redeployment he served as the Battalion Fire Support Officer.
CPT Allsup’s military schooling includes the Field Artillery Advanced Course Fort Sill, OK, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course Fort Sill, OK, Company Commanders Course Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Civil Affairs Advanced Individual Training Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Basic Combat Training Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Airborne School Fort Benning, Georgia, Air Assault School Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Combative Level 1 Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
CPT Allsup’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award.
