LTC Larry G. Murray Jr. began his service with the United States Army when he enlisted as an Infantryman in 1985. He received his commission in Army as an Infantry Officer in 1992, from the Virginia Military Institute. After completing the Infantry Officer Basic Course he was assigned as rifle platoon leader, Company Executive Officer, and Aide de Camp with the 10th Mountain Division (LI) at Fort Drum, New York from October 1993 to December 1996. While with the 10th Mountain Division, he participated in operations in Somalia and Haiti. Following Army schooling at the Infantry Advance Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to the 1st Armored Division in United States Army Europe. His assignments in Germany included G3 operations officer, Battalion Adjutant, and Company Commander. During these assignments he participated in operations in Bosnia and Kosovo. Following his assignment in Europe, LTC Murray served as Assistant Professor of Military Science at Virginia Military Institute. Upon completion of Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, he was again assigned to the 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York from June 2004 until April 2009. He served as a Battalion Executive Officer, G3/J3 Chief of Operations, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade Operations Officer, and Secretary of the General Staff. During these assignments he participated in Operations in Afghanistan. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He has earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Pathfinder Badge, and the Basic Parachutist Badge. .

CSM Samuel C. Smith entered the active Army in February 1986. After completing basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic at Fort Jackson, SC was assigned to 101 Aviation Battalion, SC National Guard. After serving one year in the National Guard, CSM Smith entered active duty February 1987 and was assigned to HHC, 17th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. During his career, CSM Smith has served in a variety of leadership and staff positions to include; Squad Leader, Contact Team NCO, Shop Foreman, Senior Mechanic, Motor Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, Battalion Maintenance Supervisor, First Sergeant, School Sergeant Major, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major. CSM Smith has served three oversees tours, two tours in The Republic of Germany HHC, 44th Signal Battalion, Mannheim; HHC 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment; Friedberg; and 19th Support Center, Wiesbaden, HHC 173rd Brigade Support Battalion, Bamberg, Germany; and one tour in Korea with HHC 17th Aviation Brigade, Yon sang, Korea. CSM Smith has served in the following CONUS units: HHC, 17th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, TX; HHC, 4th Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, NC; D Co, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 58th Transportation Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 988 MP Company, Fort Benning, GA; B Co, 307th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC; HQ 187th Ordnance Battalion, Fort Jackson, S.C. CSM Smith's military education include: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer's Course, Airborne School, Combat Lifesaver Course, Air Assault School, Heavy Track Mechanic Course, Aircraft Load Planner, Unit Level Logistics Systems Supervisor Course, Maintenance Supervisor's Course, Drill Sergeant School, Jump Master Course, Hazardous Material Course, U.S. Army First Sergeant Course, and the U.S. Army Sergeants Majors Academy. CSM Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College and is currently pursuing a Master degree.
