First Lieutenant Barry "Ed" Moore began his service with the United States Army when he enlisted as a cadet in 2006. He received his commission in the South Carolina Army National Guard as an Infantry Officer in 2007, from Lander University.
As a Second Lieutenant, he served as a Goldbar Recruiter at Lander University and Presbyterian College before attending the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course at Ft. Benning, GA. Upon completion of his schooling, 2LT Moore continued to serve as a Platoon Leader of B Co, 1-118th Infantry in Fountain Inn, SC. He became the Company Executive Officer of Foxtrot Company, 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment in June 2008. He continues to serve as a Platoon Leader for B Co, 4-118 Infantry in Charleston, SC.
LT Moore’s awards and decorations include National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, and the Palmetto Service Ribbon. He also earned the Air Assault badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, and the Ranger Tab.
He is married and has one child.

As the First Sergeant for Foxtrot Company, 3rd of the 60th Infantry Regiment, SFC Watkins is responsible for all aspects of training, administration, coaching, mentoring, and teaching of 18 Cadre and over 12000 Soldiers annually.
