CPT Clyde D Harris is a native of Bonneau Beach, S.C. and is a 2010 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia South Carolina and a 2010 graduate of St Leo University in Tampa, Florida.
He received his commission through the Officer Candidate School in 2005 as a Signal Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Information Technology, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems.
CPT Clyde D Harris began his military service by enlisting in the South Carolina Army National Guard as an Infantryman (11B) in 1989 until graduating from high school in 1991. After graduating high school, CPT Harris entered active duty in 1992 and was assigned to the 9-101st AVN in Ft Campbell, KY as a Doorgunner. In 1994 CPT Harris PCS to Camp Casey, Korea where he was assigned to the 1-503rd INF as an M60 machine gunner. After his tour in Korea, CPT Harris was reassigned to Ft Campbell, KY from 1995-1998 as an Infantry Team Leader with the 2-187th INF. While assigned to 2-187th, CPT Harris deployed with them to Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia. After leaving Ft Campbell, KY, CPT Harris was assigned to 1-508th ABCT in Vicenza, Italy as an Infantry Squad Leader from 1998-2001. CPT Harris was later PCS'd in 2001 from Italy to Ft Benning, GA to serve as a Ranger Instructor with the 4th Ranger Training Battalion from 2001-2004. In 2004, CPT Harris was reassigned to the 10th Mountain Division Ft Drum, NY with the 1-87th INF as an Infantry Platoon Sergeant. In 2005, CPT Harris was select to attend the Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Ft Benning, GA where he was commissioned as a second lieutenant. After commissioning, CPT Harris attended the Signal School in Ft Gordon, GA where he received training as a Signal Officer. Upon graduation, his first assignment as a commissioned officer was with the 173rd Special Troops Battalion in Bamberg, Germany from 2005-2008 as a Joint Network Node (JNN) Platoon Leader and the Special Troops Battalion’s S6 for the unit’s deployment to Afghanistan. In 2008, CPT Harris was assigned to the University of South Carolina where he attended school under the Degree Completion Program and received his Baccalaureate of Science in Integrated Information Technology.

CPT Harris is the father of four children.
