The Physical Readiness Division (PRD) is the Army's proponent for Army Physical Readiness Training and Testing. The PRD develops concepts, doctrine, tactics, techniques, procedures, organization designs, materiel requirements, training programs, training support requirements, education requirements as they relate to the Army Physical Readiness Training Program. PRD is responsible for TC 3-22.20, Army Physical Readiness Training and the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). PRD also provides subject-matter expertise in support of G3/5/7's HQDA oversight role for the Army Physical Readiness Training Program. Specifically, PRD clarifies command policies, regulations and instructions provided by Department of the Army as they relate to the Army's Physical Readiness Training Program.
PRD provides subject-matter expertise to unit commanders and Soldiers through an experienced-based working knowledge of the theories, principles, techniques, and methodologies of physical education, exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and weight management, primary and secondary education, and motor learning as they relate to human performance, specifically the physical fitness requirements relating to the accomplishment of Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills.
PRD provides subject-matter expertise to IET unit commanders, drill sergeants and Soldiers through an experienced-based working knowledge of the theories, principles, techniques, and methodologies of physical education, exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and weight management as they relate to the training of new Soldiers. This is accomplished through TC 3-22.20, Army Physical Readiness Training and Future Soldier Pocket Physical Training Guide.
